Penalties

A penalty on UPUN is a consequence applied to a Player’s account or Materials in response to violations of platform policies, misuse of resources, or repeated undesirable behavior. Penalties affect not only the visibility and accessibility of Creations, Products, and Groups, but also directly modify Player attributes such as HP, NRG, XP, and even Polarity.

Penalties serve to correct behavior, enforce community standards, and balance gameplay mechanics, ensuring fairness across the platform. Depending on the severity, penalties may include temporary modifications or permanent restrictions, some of which can result in suspension or termination.

Types of Penalties

• Content-Based Penalties: Affect the visibility or accessibility of Creations, Products, and Groups. For example, restricting access to a Group or marking a Creation as low quality.

• Player-Based Penalties: Modify Player attributes such as reducing XP gain, increasing HP or NRG costs, or restricting access to certain platform features.

• Status Effects: Temporary penalties that affect a Player's gameplay experience, such as reduced XP earnings, increased costs for experiences, or altered recommendations.

• Violation: Penalties accrued from the violation of the platform's policies. These penalties are permanent records of misconduct and may result in the restriction of features, suspension, or termination of the account.
