As part of this mission, it is essential to ensure that the information shared on the platform is accurate, reliable, and does not mislead other Players. Misinformation, whether intentional or accidental, can harm individuals, groups, or communities and will not be tolerated on UPUN.

What is Misinformation?

Misinformation refers to the sharing of false, inaccurate, or misleading information that can cause harm or confusion. This includes, but is not limited to:

• False Claims: Sharing content that presents incorrect or distorted facts as truth.

• Deceptive Information: Manipulating information to mislead others or distort the truth.

• Hoaxes or Scams: Spreading rumors or fabrications designed to trick or deceive Players.

• Medical Misinformation: Posting false or misleading information about health-related topics, treatments, or cures.

• Historical and Political Misinformation: Misrepresenting or distorting historical events, political events, or public figures in a way that can lead to harm or misunderstanding.

Our Approach to Misinformation

UPUN is committed to preventing the spread of misinformation by:

• Reviewing Content: Moderators and Admins will review flagged and reported content that appears to contain false or misleading information. This includes fact-checking claims that may be harmful or incorrect.

• Context and Sources: Players are encouraged to provide reliable sources or context for any factual claims made in Creations, Products, or Groups. Lack of credible sources or spreading widely debunked information may result in penalties.

• Transparency: If Players receive a penalty related to misinformation, they will be notified of the violation and provided with an explanation of why the content was flagged.

Penalties for Misinformation

Players found sharing misinformation may face the following actions:

• Warning: For first-time or minor offenses, Players may receive a warning to correct or remove the misleading content.

• Content Removal: If the misinformation is deemed harmful or widespread, the content will be removed immediately.

• Account Penalties: Repeated offenses may result in penalties such as reduced XP or NRG, suspension, or permanent termination of the Player’s account.

Guidelines for Preventing Misinformation

• Fact-Check Before Posting: Players are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the information they share. Always fact-check claims before posting and provide sources when possible.

• Avoid Spreading Unverified Content: Do not share content that has not been verified or that you know may be false, even if it seems harmless.

• Report Misinformation: If you encounter misinformation on UPUN, use the Report feature to flag the content for review.
