Upgrades

Upgrades play a crucial role in enhancing both the rewards and complexity of an Experience. By applying an Upgrade, Players can modify key aspects of their gameplay, affecting the flow of play and introducing new strategic elements. Upgrades influence Player attributes, alter Rewards, and may even apply Status Effect Penalties that impact how Players interact with Creations, Products, and Groups.

How Upgrades Work

• Impact on Experiences: Upgrades maximize the costs and rewards of Experiences, making Creations, Products, and Groups more appealing, particularly for high-level Players. For example, an upgrade might multiply the XP reward of a Creation by 3x, but could also increase the HP or NRG cost to complete the Experience.

• Material LVL Increase: Every Upgrade applied to a Creation, Product, or Group also increases its LVL, making it more valuable and challenging, with greater rewards available to those who engage with it.

• Status Effects: While upgrades enhance rewards, they may also come with trade-offs in the form of Status Effect Penalties. These effects could alter Player attributes temporarily, such as increasing HP or NRG costs or modifying XP gains. For example, while the XP reward may be tripled, the Player might lose additional HP upon completion of the Experience.

Acquiring Upgrades

• Purchased Upgrades: Players may purchase Upgrades to enhance their Creations, Products, or Groups. Purchased Upgrades are non-refundable and represent a one-time transaction.

• Administered Upgrades: Upgrades may also be administered by a Mod or Admin as a milestone reward for reaching specific achievements or acknowledgements, giving Players an additional incentive to engage with the platform.

Upgrades and Campaign Strategy

• Enhancing the Player Experience: Upgrades are an essential tool for Players who wish to optimize their campaigns. They allow for greater customization and flexibility, altering how Players approach and complete Experiences. High-level Players benefit from these upgrades as they seek to maximize the rewards from their campaign.

• Balancing Costs and Rewards: While Upgrades significantly enhance rewards, they also require Players to manage the increased costs that come with them. Whether through HP, NRG, or potential Status Effects, Players must consider the trade-offs when upgrading their Creations, Products, or Groups.
